Wi-mentor's End-Of-The-Year Celebration!

High school students, their family members, mentors, school liaisons, United Way staff, and supporters celebrated the success of 152 Mentor-Mentee Matches from Bridgeport and Stratford schools on Friday, June 11, 2010.  For the third year in a row, Wi-mentor celebrated and honored participating students and mentors; the thousands of emails that were sent among participants; lessons learned about college and careers; graduating Seniors; and growing friendships at Testo's Restaurant, Bridgeport. 220 program participants and supporters attended the Midnight Masquerade-themed celebration, competing for the Best Mask and Dressed Awards, arriving in their Sunday's finest.  The anticipation was high as Program Coordinators kicked off the 2nd Annual Award Ceremony, recognizing Rising Stars, Best Quotes, Longest Emails, Best Email Consistency, Most Patient, Contagious Positivity, Above & Beyond Mentoring, Volunteers of the Year, Most Creative Emails, and much more. Following the Award Ceremony, DJE, David Jason's Entertainment treated everyone to  smash hits  nobody could resist.  Mentors, mentees, teachers, family members and friends, as well as United Way colleagues all joined together, no one could sit still.  Thank you Viktoriya Los and Krystle Bikowski for helping make our Midnight Masquerade a memorable affair and to Testo's for once again making this a great event for our mentors and mentees.
