The cost of living in Coastal Fairfield County makes it difficult for one in three families to meet their financial obligations and save for the future. Not having enough food, or losing heat or electricity, makes it difficult to imagine getting through the day. Homelessness creates overwhelming problems such as absenteeism, affecting one’s ability to learn and stay on grade level.

We know that anyone can be one crisis away from having their lives change dramatically.  United Way supports families’ basic needs as the economy continues to be challenging and more families are suffering losses.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors represents the work of UWCFC that helps break down the barriers of poverty so that we change the odds for children and their families.
