Take the first step in making a positive difference in the life of a young person.
Mentoring -- the relationship between a caring adult and a young person -- provides the young person with the guidance and support they need to stay on track. A large body of research shows that a child who is mentored demonstrates increased self-confidence, school attendance and academic achievement; avoids risky behaviors; and is more likely to attend college.
The Mentoring Institute of Coastal Fairfield County is a partnership of independent community, school, career, faith and online mentoring organizations working to increase the number of children and youth in Coastal Fairfield County who are matched with a mentor.
The Governor’s Prevention Partnership, through its Connecticut Mentoring Partnership, is a key partner of The Mentoring Institute, providing resources, information on best practices and training opportunities to mentoring programs throughout Connecticut.
The Mentoring Institute provides prospective mentors with a place to find an independent mentoring organization near them in the communities of Bridgeport, Darien, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stratford, Trumbull, Weston, Westport, and Wilton.
