ACT Round 3 Grant Application Now Available

United Way of Coastal Fairfield County, Advancing Capacity Together (ACT) Program Partner, is currently seeking applications to establish a qualified pool of consultants to potentially provide professional services for faith and community based organizations (FCBO) that are part of the ACT program. ACT is a program funded by the US Department of Health and Human Services, Administration of Children and Families, Compassion Capital Demonstration Program.
ACT was developed in collaboration with the City of Bridgeport, Greater Bridgeport Council of Churches, and Workplace, Inc., and is designed identify and engage faith-based and community organizations with the goal to increase their ability to better serve their clients. In 2007, the City of Bridgeport and partner organizations were awarded a grant from the US Department of Health and Human Services, Compassion Capital Fund to implement the Advancing Capacity Together (ACT) program.
Over the next three years, ACT will offer a total of 60 organizations, which provide services to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, admission into the program through a competitive application process. Organizations that are successful will complete an individual organizational assessment which will identify their strengths, weaknesses, and overall needs. Participants will also be provided with training and technical assistance through a workshop series to strengthen their administrative, financial and operational capacities.
