Achieving Greater Financial Stability
United Way is taking a comprehensive approach to improving the financial independence of families in the Coastal Fairfield County region. An income adequate to pay for today’s necessities and save for the future provides families a sense of financial stability. By focusing on increasing the amount of affordable housing, improvinghomelessness prevention measures, offering financial stability tools and helping provide basic needs, United Way is helping families to have hope for a brighter tomorrow.
To enhance the financial stability of the working population, United Way of Coastal Fairfield County is partnering with the Connecticut Association for Human Services (CAHS) on the Family Economic Success Initiative. This project offers free income tax preparation, financial literacy courses and budget coaches to those who work but whose overall financial position is marginal, thus helping them increase their income while saving for the future.
