Locally, the Alexis de Tocqueville Society brings together those individuals who show exceptional leadership to bring about community change. Through the generosity of our Alexis de Tocqueville donors, United Way is empowered to seek innovative and impactful ways to respond to the most pressing needs of the communities in our region.

On March 4th, 2010 Jeffrey Immelt and our corporate partners at GE hosted a reception for United Way's Alexis de Tocqueville Society.  Guests were welcomed by Mr. Immelt, Chairman and CEO of GE and Brian Gallagher, President and CEO of United Way Worldwide and enjoyed the opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss the work of United Way in Coastal Fairfield County.
