Readiness to Achieve in School
Helping Children and Youth Achieve Their Potential
Our goal is for children to enter school developmentally on track in terms of literacy and social, emotional and intellectual skills. Research shows that activities in the early years of a child’s life significantly impact language and number skills, relationships with peers and adults, social-emotional development, and overall school readiness. If children cannot read, they cannot learn, and if they cannot learn, their chances of academic and career success are greatly diminished.
In Bridgeport and Norwalk we are active participants in community wide efforts to address key issues in early care and education, such as:
- Affordable, Quality Early Care and Education
- Early Literacy
- Health Priorities
- Parent information and Involvement.
